Mission Statement From the Weird Al Mandatory Fun Album is Nonsensical

The eighth music video released as part of the promotional effort for the Weird Al Mandatory Fun album focuses on workplace buzz words. The nonsensical music video shows a hand drawing different scenarios and illustrations around terms like synergy, efficiency, diversity and functionality. The Mission Statement’s lyrics are also nonsense as Al Yankovic harmonizes with himself to lines like “leverage our core competencies.”

As the Wall Street Journal puts it, this track from the Weird Al Mandatory Fun album has a Crosby, Stills & Nash style. The parody master told the publication “I wanted to do a song about all the ridiculous double-speak and meaningless buzz words I’ve been hearing in office environments my entire life.”
