Japanese sportswear label Mizuno joins forces with Highsnobiety in creating a collaborative sneaker -- the Wave Rider Phoenix. The Wave Rider 1 OG model was introduced in March, recalling the iconic Wave Rider 1 that Mizuno first showcased in 1998. The new collaborative Wave Rider Phoenix silhouette is the latest highlight of one of the label's most iconic footwear models.
The sneakers' uppers are constructed from a blend of various materials including military nylon mesh, full grain leather, nubuck, and suede. The shoe's color palette is relatively broad as well, adorning the Phoenix sneakers with tones of bright red, grey, black, and white. Additionally, there is a soft pastel blue seen on the outsole, the tongue, and toe box. The lace keeper system and piping details have a reflective finish. The signature Wave plate is also decorated in the bright red hue and the whole shoe sits on top of white EVA midsole foundation.
