Patrick Rochon's water sports photography catches beams of light in the night's sky. The effect was created by attaching LEDs to wakeboards and letting riders take them out to hit the waves. As a result, stunning photography was captured that leaves a trail of exploding colors that follow the rider's movements.
This project was done to promote Redbull's photography competition called Redbull Ilume 2013. It has certainly raised the bar for those looking to take some of their own amateur water sports photography.
The series and video footage is quite fascinating to view. What makes it so successful is the pathway that wake boarders take. They follow the intense wake of the water and soar through the sky. This movement creates wonderful arcs and dips.
