This water meter invention knows when someone has been in the shower too long. Not only will this help speed up shower times, which will make getting ready in a busy home an easier task, but it will also conserve water.

The Driblet water meter was invented by Mario Garcia and Rodolfo Ruiz. It recently came first place at the AngelHack Monterrey competition as well. The invention idea came to Ruiz, whose daughter was prone to taking overly long showers. He wanted to come up with a way to show how much water she was wasting.

The smart meter can be attached to any residential piping system. It collects data on all kinds of household water usage as well as information on water pressure and temperature.
