Wargroove 2 is an upcoming strategy game that is a sequel to the 2019 hit Wargroove. The game is developed by Robotality, the studio behind Pathway and Halfway, in collaboration with Chucklefish, the publisher of Stardew Valley and Starbound. Wargroove 2 is expected to release on PC and Nintendo Switch on October 5th 2023. The game is set in a new coastal region called Aurania, where a new faction has discovered ancient relics that could unleash a terrible power.
The gameplay of Wargroove 2 is similar to the original game, which was inspired by the classic Advance Wars series. Players can control different commanders, each with their own unique abilities and personalities, and lead their armies in turn-based battles on land, sea, and air. The game features three interwoven campaign arcs, a new roguelike mode called Conquest, co-op and multiplayer modes for up to four players, and an improved editor for creating custom maps, campaigns, and cutscenes. The game also boasts a captivating soundtrack by composer Dale North, who has worked on projects such as River City Girls and the Nintendo eShop. The game retails for $19.99 on the Nintendo eShop.
