Hybrid Synthesizer Updates

Waldorf Expanded the Performance of Quantum with an OS Firmware Update

Waldorf Music, famous for its high-quality hardware synthesizers, has released the 2.0 operating system firmware update for its Quantum product. The recent update provides greater functionality for the high-end analogue/digital hybrid, eight-voiced Quantum polyphonic synthesizer.

The 2.0 update adds a fifth Kernel oscillator to extend the possible sonic variations for Quantum, while complementing the existing Wavetable, Waveform, Particle and Resonator oscillators types. The new Kernel oscillator includes six individual operators, which are essentially six oscillators that can be synthesized for endless sound possibilities. Other additional improvements include a parameter-only mode for the Sequencer, support for USB storage devices, expanded AudioFile Editor, and more.

Waldorf's Quantum Synthesizer OS 2.0 update is currently available for product owners as a free download from the company's MyWaldorf accounts page.
