The Volkswagen ID. Era 5S is a new sedan for the Chinese market that's engineered to deliver impressive power and performance at a very competitive price point. The vehicle features a plug-in hybrid powertrain that's rated to deliver 160-kilometers of all-electric range before shifting over the internal combustion engine to make it great for long-distance drives. The vehicle will support AC and DC charging with the latter capable of topping the battery from 30% to 80% in roughly 15-minutes.
The Volkswagen ID. Era 5S is priced at 89,900 yuan or about $13,400 to position it as a very competitive option for driver in China to consider. The vehicle will come n five variants to choose from, which are all on preorder now.
