Elegant African Queen Campaigns

The Vlisco Hommage a l’Art Collection Celebrates Ethnic Prints

The Vlisco Hommage a l’Art Collection campaign is lensed by Koen Hauser's lens. With art direction by Maarten Spruyt, the photographer captures a gorgeous African model as she poses amidst an opulent studio setting.

Contributing to much of West and Central Africa's fashion landscape, Dutch fabric manufacturer Vlisco creates stunning textiles that embody the nation's ethnic inspiration. It's founder Pieter Fenterer van Vlissingen launched the textile company in 1846 and pioneered the production of Indonesian batik cloth, used widely all over Africa.

This catalog showcases a versatile range of patterned garments fit for an African queen. The advertorials' art director Maarten Spruyt styles the image series, dressing his model muse in tribal print gowns, vividly graphic tunics and luxurious head wrap accessories that are culturally inspired.
