Hyper-Connected Gyms

Two New Virgin Active Clubs Are Set to Become Hi-Tech Workout Hubs

Set to open in early 2015, two new Virgin Active Clubs in Merchant Square, Paddington and the Walbrook Building, Cannon Street are set to be the "first fully connected health clubs in the UK." The clubs will make use of digital technology like wearable fitness trackers for just about every activity possible, so that members are able to get a better sense of patterns in their fitness routines, as well as progress.

The gyms will be set up with Technogym equipment, so that members can watch YouTube videos, have conversations on Skype or even play games while they're engaged in a physical activity. Fitness apps will be able to sync with machines both inside and outside of the club, so that members can track progress no matter what way they choose to sweat it out.
