Viral Dot Cake Desserts

Co-op Launches Viral Dot Cakes Nationwide

Co-op is bringing viral dot cake desserts to UK supermarkets, becoming the first national retailer to offer the social media-inspired treats across more than 1,600 stores. Originally popularized by a New York bakery, the cakes feature layered sponge, smooth frosting, and crunchy toppings that create satisfying textures when scraped with a spoon.

The limited-edition collection includes Raspberry & Vanilla Dot Cake, featuring raspberry jam and colorful sugar decorations, and Chocolate & Salted Caramel Dot Cake, topped with crispy chocolate balls. Both varieties cost £2.50 and will remain available for six weeks, making the previously online-focused dessert trend more accessible to shoppers.

For Co-op, the launch creates opportunities to attract customers interested in trending desserts and visually appealing treats. By translating a popular social media concept into supermarket products, the retailer can encourage purchases while responding to changing consumer preferences.
