These Vintage NASA Photographs Will Go on Display

Vintage NASA photographs, taken by astronauts on Apollo 14, are set to be exhibited at London's BREESE Little Gallery.

The exhibition is centered around the sublime, a term which refers to greatness or grandeur that inspires admiration and awe. Space photographs are an obvious example, as they illuminate how insignificant we are in such a vast, mysterious universe, of which we know so little about.

Yet, at the same time, these photos give us a sense of empowerment, because we endeavor to learn, measure and map the mystical and inscrutable. We attempt to translate the unknowable into something legible, communicable; a language of science, logic and technology, that, though is imperfect, is evidence of our curiosity and insatiable thirst for knowledge.
