Vape Device Recycling

TerraCycle Launches a Nationwide Collection Service for Used Vapes

Vape device recycling is addressing a growing waste stream created by products that combine lithium-ion batteries, electronics, plastics, and nicotine components. TerraCycle Commercial has launched a nationwide service for collecting and processing used nicotine vape devices from households, municipalities, schools, hotels, and other facilities. The prepaid system includes collection containers, shipping, device recycling, and compliant nicotine pod disposal. Collected devices are disassembled and sorted by material type for recycling, while nicotine pods are sent for compliant incineration.

The turnkey model gives organizations a more accessible way to manage vape waste while addressing regulatory and fire-safety concerns associated with improper battery disposal. Offering multiple container sizes alongside bulk pallet and full-truckload options also allows TerraCycle to serve customers at different scales. The service could create a scalable revenue opportunity around specialized waste management as regulations and demand for hard-to-recycle material solutions increase.
