Canada’s leading metaverse platform Utherverse has announced that it will introduce functional non-fungible tokens (fNFTs) in its upcoming update. The new update will see Utherverse expand its platform offerings, which right now focus on live metaverse events.
For those unfamiliar, fNFTS differ from traditional NFTs in that they provide users with a specific purpose (i.e., function). For example, these kinds of NFTs could include digital-only wearables that can be used in Utherverse to enact a specific action. According to the company, a beta version of the updated Utherverse is set to launch before the end of the year.
Utherverse is a unique metaverse platform that was built on the Unity Engine. Unlike other metaverse platforms, which make use of purposely cartoon-like avatars, Utherverse aims to provide photorealistic avatars and environments.
