Getting on an off of the toilet can be difficult for seniors who have mobility issues, so the 'Uppie' toilet seat is intended to provide users with a functional way to always be able to get up without fuss. The toilet seat works by being installed on a traditional toilet in order to add it into the home of a senior or disabled person. The lifting action of the unit works to slowly push the person off of the seat to ensure they don't have to struggle with canes or handles in order to push themselves up.

The 'Uppie' toilet seat is the design work of Jan S. van Ackeren and shows promise for seniors, adults or even children who have trouble getting off of the toilet.
