Upcycled Portable Toilets

'To.org' and 'Nagami' Have Created a Mobile Toilet Out of Recycled Waste

'To.org' is an organization focused on using business partnerships to achieve the goal of healing the earth, and it has partnered with 'Nagami,' a Spanish design studio to create an upcycled portable toilet. 'Upcycled' refers to waste being repurposed into something more useful. For 'The Throne,' the name given to this toilet, a large amount of wasted plastic medical trays were used to achieve something stylish and functional.

The Throne features a futuristic pod-like design in plain white. This toilet, and corresponding pod, was created through a 3D printing process which allows for quick and accurate reproduction of the materials were there. On top of being a stylish portable toilet, this toilet separates liquid waste and physical waste, allowing these to be disposed of properly or collected and reused as fertilizer. The Throne is currently in its testing phase in Switzerland.
