Follower-Eliminating Social Media Tools

Twitter's Soft Block Feature Lets Users Remove Followers

Twitter launched a new feature that gives users more agency and control over their accounts. The feature is called 'Soft Block' and essentially lets users remove unwanted followers.

The feature will immediately remove a follower without notifying them. Once removed, the 'soft blocked' user will no longer interact with that person's page or posts. Twitter has added 'Soft Block' to help users curate their own social media experience and help restrain internet trolls.

The 'Soft Block' feature comes one month after the tech giant rolled out its new 'Safety Mode' - an algorithm that identities abusive users and temporarily blocks them. Although 'Soft Block' does not give users the ability to block unwanted followers outright, it is one step in the right direction and helps users take charge of their Twitter experience.
