Twitter is Releasing an Edit Button for Blue Suscribers

Twitter announced that it is finally releasing the long-awaited Tweet edit button for premium subscribers on its platform. Following a period of internal testing, the social media giant confirmed that it plans to release an edit button for Twitter Blue members throughout September.

The Tweet edit button does not come without its restrictions, though, as an unrestricted edit button could lead to miscommunications and misinformation on the platform. The restrictions include a 30-minute window where a Tweet can be edited from the time it is posted, and the fact that any edited Tweet will feature an 'Edited' logo, as well as an updated timestamp for when the edits occurred. If the 'Edited' label is clicked, users will be able to see previous versions of the post, preventing users from platforming content that they do not agree with.
