Chuckanut Brewery marked the Skagit Tulip Festival - an annual tulip celebration held every year in the Skagit Valley in Washington state - by launching a delectable tulip ale that is just as good as a solo sipper as it is an accompaniment to delicious pasta dishes, seafood and chowder.
The 'Skagit Tulip Ale' is a California Common ale that is crafted with a combination of Noble and new world hops infused with Triticale Skagit malts. The malts, which are of a wheat and rye hybrid variety, help make the beer hoppy without being overbearing, with the dry finish making it a delightfully refreshing brew.
This particular tulip ale is said to have a smooth and malty character at its very core, while the fact that it's made in support of the Skagit Valley's Farm to Pint month celebration makes it a proudly local offering.
