See-Through Tabletops

Nendo's Transparent Table is a Whimsical Piece of Furniture

The Transparent Table by Japanese design studio Nendo is a wicked piece of furniture. It comes in both a black or clear color, each giving the unique see-through material a different edge. Both versions have a ingrained wood texture that makes it appear as if each Transparent Table is made out of crystallized wood planks.

While the black Transparent Table immediately reveals the detailed texture, the clear top requires for you to take a closer look. The Transparent Table design also mimics the look of floor boards with uneven levels at either end.

To create the Transparent Table, Nendo cast clear acrylic in wooden molds and assembled the resulting pieces into the magnificent tables. They would definitely make easy conversation starters at a dinner party.
