Repurposed Book Cameras

The Tonk ‘As Long as It Photographs’ Project Captures the Audi

The Tonk ‘As Long as It Photographs’ Project uses vintage photography books to make a working camera; a funny, yet clever adaption. Tonk is the collaborative duo of Swiss artists Taiyo Onorato and Nico Krebs, who create cameras out of any object they come across. These pieces are then featured in its self-published photography magazines, ‘As Long as It Photographs’ and ‘It Must Be a Camera.’

To name a few of Tonk’s other works, it has created cameras out of laptops, tortoise shells and camera cases. The DIY nature of Tonk makes it seem like a snap for any photography fiend. What is really great about this project is all the duo's creations work and are used to photograph captures for its publications.
