Cryptocurrency-based prediction market Polymarket is introducing The Polymarket, a free grocery store in New York City, and it's set to open its doors for a limited time on February 12th at noon.
People living in New York City have been asking for more affordable grocery stores, and as part of a five-day pop-up, Polymarket is answering the call. It's only natural for some New Yorkers to be skeptical about the launch of a free grocery store. In one social media post announcing this new store, Polymarket said, "The Polymarket is fully stocked. No purchase required. We’re open to all New Yorkers. A real physical investment in our community.” Polymarket additionally donated $1 million to Food Bank For New York City.
