The Scotch Malt Whisky Society released The Only Drop whiskey bottle. The whisky is from a Speyside distillery and started aging in an Oloroso sherry butt on September 25, 1989. After 30 years, it was split between first-fill Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez hogsheads on May 7, 2019, before being combined into a unique bottle.
Bottled at 50.8% ABV, The Only Drop embodies the 33-year journey from cask to bottle. The bottle is made of sustainable paper pulp infused with wood shavings from its original casks and designed in a ripple formation inspired by nature's fluid patterns. The droplet opening provides a view of the liquid inside.
Each bottle is adorned with unique One of One artwork in Society glassware and a 10cl miniature for tasting. A book outlines this exclusive release's concept, journey, and tasting notes, ensuring 'The Only Drop' remains a treasured part of whisky history for enthusiasts worldwide.
