The Flying Hawk Studio works alongside Simple Union to create a new iteration of Nike's signature Cortez sneaker silhouette. The reworked version by the two takes on many motifs of Japanese-inspired elements through the design. The iconic Swoosh branding accent is covered in a black 'Koinobori' carp, which is a symbolization of Japan's auspicious Antai. This also represents the greatness that the Japanese believe all fathers embody.
The new Nike Cortex 'Koinobori sneakers boast a minimal design overall, with white uppers and Japanese antique accents -- there are details constructed from beads, cloth, and a leather strap by the lacing systems. The sneakers are now available for pre-order up until May 13th online at The Flying Hawk Studio.
