Sculptural Clothing Racks

The Berg by Akash Eskafi is Made for a Mountainous Mess

The mess of colorful clothing on the bed or floor could often be interpreted as an abstract work of art (at least, to those who have no inclination towards tidiness), but now The Berg by Akash Eskafi, a student from Sweden’s Konstfack, can make it into legitimate art. It is a modern clothing rack that is shaped like an iceberg, hence its name.

Created for a project revolving around the theme of negative space, The Berg by Akash Eskafi was inspired by the Swedish saying, "When one is somewhat messy: one leaves behind a mountain of clothes." Creating a mountain of his own, Eskafi reveals, “I started to reflect on the idea of turning something otherwise considered negative into something fun and positive." He certainly succeeded in doing that and more.
