Non-Plug-In Hybrid Cars

The 2020 Hyundai Sonata Will Feature a Solar Roof

The 2020 Hyundai Sonata has been unveiled and it will be a hybrid-powered car with a solar roof. Hyundai indicates that with six hours of charging, the 2020 Hyundai Sonata should be able to drive another 8000 miles. This works out to approximately two additional miles of range in a day. No price point has been announced yet, however previous Sonata Hybrid models were priced at $25,000.

The car is powered by a 2.0 liter naturally aspirated inline-four engine as well as a 38-kW electric motor. The two engines combine to produce 193 horsepower. For this model, Hyundai has also included Active Shift Control, which means the hybrid engine will be able to match the rotational speed form the combustion engine.
