River-Inspired Train Interiors

Clean the Sky - Positive Eco Trends & Breakthroughs

AREP and Nendo Join on the Interior Design of the TGV Inoui

— March 29, 2025 — Art & Design
Nendo works in collaboration with AREP to design the interiors of the TGV Inoui train. This is the fifth generation and the team embraces the connection between the train and river. The passenger experience is meant to reflect this through the soothing qualities of water translated through its design.

The project started in 2016 and has soft forms and tonal palettes. The redesigned carriages showcase an immediate sense of calmness with a fluid horizon line that continues throughout the interior. This forms a continuity that looks like the surface of water. This element also serves various purposes to create perspective and orient passengers in the space in a subtle way. The effects are natural which is important to maintain.
