When people translate text they often turn to Google translate immediately but ABBYY -- a content intelligence solutions and services company -- is hoping its new update to the TextGrabber app will offer a suitable alternative to Google. The key feature of this update focuses on the new real-time translation function that uses the phone's camera to translate text instantly. This feature works both online and off and is free for download for iOS.

This update to the TextGrabber app allows for translation on any color background, a limitation often faced with other apps and does not require users to download languages to translate offline. Instead, the TextGrabber app comes equipped with 10 languages when offline. When online, the app can capture text in 61 languages and translate it in real time to 104 languages.
