This Short Film by Ivan Cash Explores Personal Interactions
Nicole Ballantyne-Choo — August 7, 2013 — Pop Culture
In an age of technology where everywhere you look people are glued to their phones, interactive artist Ivan Cash decided to explore this phenomenon with this texting experiment video.
This video follows him going around San Francisco asking people to share the last text message they sent or received, or to relay the current conversation they are having with a friend on the other end. Some of the conversations are quite hilarious—like the one about leg hairs—which is what most daily conversations with friends are about. However, some conversations are extremely moving and really share emotional moments like a break-up.
While some people are frustrated with how attached society is to technology, these conversations prove that it’s not the addiction to the phone, but instead the addiction to contact with others.
