Teen Social Safety Features

Discord Launches the 'Teen Safety Assist' Feature for Youth

In a proactive move to ensure a secure and welcoming environment for younger users, Discord has unveiled its latest safety initiative, Teen Safety Assist.

The safety measures introduced under Teen Safety Assist include proactive filters and alerts enabled by default for teenagers on the platform. One notable feature is the automatic blurring of sensitive images shared with teenagers, helping to shield them from potentially harmful content. Additionally, teenagers on Discord will receive alerts when they receive messages from a new sender. These alerts prompt users to take a moment to assess whether they wish to reply to the message or block the sender, preventing unwanted communication and safeguarding vulnerable individuals.

Teen Safety Assist also includes a warning system that sends a clear message to users who violate Discord's rules.
