What you're looking at are tap candle holders––objects made from components that are manufactured for a very different purpose. Meriç Kara and Serda Çamlı have taken parts of polished plumbing fixtures and reimagined them as beautiful brackets for holding delicate wax-and-wick lights.
Lovely wooden boxes are produced with track-style lids, custom-made to accommodate the insertion of the flat faucet handles as covers. Either one on either end can be pulled out and turned over, enabling it to then point upwards to cradle a lit tea light. Called 'A Second Chance,' the unconventional yet charming collection of items beautifully blends metal with woodgrain and wax, expressing itself as a set of harmonious objects, despite the eclectic composition.
