Sculptural Gothic Fashion

The T Magazine December 2013 Editorial Showcases Rei Kawakubo's Designs

The American publication's Suzy Menkes succinctly describes the looks featured in the T Magazine December 2013 editorial as "strange, beautiful, singular and, for most of us, unwearable." The sculptural and gothic designs are the latest creations by Rei Kawakubo, the mastermind behind Comme des Garçons. From a shapeless white dress that rivals the designs of Viktor & Rolf to sheer romantic gowns worthy of a wealthy Victorian widow, the looks are worthy of the accompanying articles title, "Fashion’s Purest Visionary."

The looks that make up the T Magazine December 2013 editorial are modelled on Maja Salamon, Elodia Prieto and Ine Neefs. They were shot by photographer Paolo Roversi and had their hair experimentally styled by a visionary in his own right, Julien d’Ys.
