Spotify's Synced Feeds Feature Helps Users Make Subscriber-Only Podcasts

Spotify is expanding its Open Access API to enhance the accessibility of subscriber-only podcast content directly within its app, further streamlining the listening experience for users.

Known as Synched Feeds, this feature is already being utilized by prominent publications such as The New York Times and The Economist, along with subscription-based content providers like Substack and Patreon. With Synched Feeds, subscriber-only episodes are displayed directly in the creator’s feed on Spotify, and users can subscribe and listen seamlessly within the app.

To use this functionality, creators must implement Spotify's Open Access API, allowing content distribution from their existing platforms onto Spotify. Listeners can then link their premium accounts from those platforms to Spotify, unlocking exclusive content without switching between apps.
