This 'I'm a Swimmer' Beauty Editorial is Flower-Infused and Offbeat

Yulia Gorbachenko's recent editorial 'I'm a Swimmer' showcases model Samantha Xu (Muse Model Management) with makeup from Anastasia Durasova and retouching by Cristian Girotto.

As a photographer, Gorbachenko makes great use of a wide-ranging and vibrant color palette. While many of her colleagues tend towards monochromatic schemes and stark, minimalist aesthetics, Gorbachenko goes headlong into bouncy pastels and high contrast shading. These sensibilities go quite well with certain fashions, as demonstrated by the photographs featured here.

Xu's swim cap is about as floral as it can get without actually being a bouquet of flowers. Though it may not be very streamlined and probably won't be adorning the heads of any Olympic swimmers this year, the cap has an undeniably quirky style. It aims for form rather than function and does a splendid job of it.
