Sustainably Farmed Seaweed Ingredients

OCEANIUM Develops the Probiotic-Rich OCEAN ACTIVES® H+

OCEANIUM — a UK-based biotechnology firm — specializes in the next-generation of sustainably farmed seaweed ingredients. The company recently announced the development of a new prebiotic ingredient derived from seaweed, named OCEAN ACTIVES® H+. This innovation is reported to function effectively at a substantially lower dosage than conventional alternatives.

According to OCEANIUM's recently published clinical trial, a daily intake of 250 milligrams of this extract is sufficient to yield measurable improvements in gut microbiota — a result traditionally associated with consuming between five and ten grams of standard prebiotics such as inulin. The sustainably farmed seaweed ingredient also boasts a significant reduction in common negative side effects, specifically gas and bloating, which are frequently cited reasons for discontinuing the use of high-fiber supplements. The supporting scientific study indicated several positive outcomes, including a marked shift in the balance between beneficial and undesirable gut bacteria, enhanced production of the anti-inflammatory compound butyrate, and an overall stronger anti-inflammatory response, all while maintaining a favorable gastrointestinal tolerance profile among participants.
