Symbiotic Nature Photography

Photographer Peter Jamus Shows Humanity Surrendering to Nature

Budding photographer Peter Jamus uses the theme humans surrendering to nature throughout his work.

These photos are taken from two separate series 'Environmental Portraits' and 'Reactions to Space,' each showing a person surrounded by the elements and beauty of nature. Rather than working against the natural elements, each of the subjects seem to be submitting themselves to its beauty and grandeur. With hands wide open or flung high up in the air, there is both a symbolic and literal meaning to be taken from these images. The photos take on a powerful and poetic character as our society has built a reality in such a manner as to work against nature rather then working in symbiosis with it.

As humans are seen captivated and surrendering to nature, his work is as powerful as it is poetic.
