Surmesur is Using AR to Help Customers Design Custom Clothing

The Canadian menswear boutique Surmesur recently launched an AR tool that allows customers to design their own clothing. While the brand is already known for its emphasis on customization, the debut of the new technology makes it easier than ever for style-savvy men to design their perfect dress shirt.

Surmesur's new AR tool is a special type of software that overlays real world images with computer-generated graphics to create a 3D image of a given product. Customers can then choose from 8,000 different types of fabrics and other clothing details, such as the collar and cuffs. With each change, customers can examine a 3D view of the custom garment from all angles. Customers can even zoom in or rotate the piece 360-degrees for a more detailed view.
