The Plastic Invasion print advertisement by the Surfrider Foundation provides cleverly depicted imagery of how serious the impact of environmental pollution is when it comes to the ocean and beaches.

The ad is comprised of a variety of plastic figurines including army men and dolls, along with a whole slew of discarded waste products such as cigarettes and bottle caps, marching along the beach as if they were going to war. These trashed items have all been personified, giving them a stronger visual impact. While leaving a piece of trash on the beach can often seem insignificant to the average person, this ad seeks to showcase the bigger picture, that each individual piece of trash eventually adds up to create a full-on invasion of pollution.
