California-Inspired Ranch Hotels

Julia Ashwood Helps Design the New Sun Ranch with Retro Themes

The Sun Ranch hotel is located along the coastline of Australia's Byron Bat and it is inspired by a retro Californian theme in terms of its design. Celebrating the 70s, the hotel is detailed with textural and nostalgic notes that embody an immersive ranch experience for guests overall. It is a passion project of interior designer Julia Ashwood and former fashion designer Jamie Blakey.

They work together with their creative range of designers and artists to bring their vision to life. The Sun Ranch was imagined as a calm getaway that draws themes of a 70s Californian ranch house adorned with some modern touches. It features activities for guests including "horseback sunset rides, al fresco dining, spiritual workshops, meditation sessions, yoga classes, and of course, astrological readings."
