Alvaro Dominguez Captures Summer Memories With Bread

What better way to capture summer memories than using food? Graphic illustrator Alvaro Dominguez visually depicts one of best aspects of summer, getting a sweet tan, with pieces of toast.

Dominguez's food illustrations cleverly use buttered toast to show what it's like to have a tan. Each of the pieces of bread highlight a different stereotypical set of tan lines that many of us have suffered from one time or another. One piece of toast is embossed with a white triangle bikini. The darker buttered portion of the bread represents the tanned skin and the white the concealed skin. Dominguez created the artistic pieces of toast and paired up with photographer Javier Almar to have the toast shot against colorful pastel backdrops.
