Burger King Israel is Celebrating Hanukkah with the SufganiKing Burger

Instead of latkes and matzo ball soup, those celebrating Hanukkah can head to Burger King Israel for an usual holiday treat dubbed the 'SufganiKing.' Though not a traditional Jewish delicacy, this savory sandwich certainly makes for a memorable holiday meal.

The SufganiKing, is a limited-edition treat introduced by Burger King Israel specifically for Hanukkah. The burger itself consists of two donut buns topped with a flame-grilled beef patty, onions, pickles, tomato, mayonnaise and ketchup. The use of donuts instead of normal burger buns was chosen as a play on 'sufganiyah,' which are the the round, jelly-filled donuts that are popular during Hanukkah. However, the Burger King version of the donuts are filled with ketchup, for a more savory twist on the tradition.

For those interested in sampling this unique fast food delicacy, the SufganiKing is available now until January 1st, 2017 -- which is the last day of Hanukkah this year.
