SpaceX recently received permission to build a Starship factory in the Port of Los Angeles. The company was awarded the permit in a 12-0 vote, and it can now work toward creating Starship rockets for space travel. The permit was being pursued by SpaceX since 2018 when it first leased the location.
The Starship factory in Los Angeles will be able to streamline the company's operations, as it is much closet to the SpaceX headquarters which is also located in Los Angeles. The facility will also be used for research and development purposes. Elon Musk also stated that the company will be ready to run test flights for the Starship rocket before the end of the year.
