Patrick Seymour's Star Wars Illustration is a Moving Work of Art

French-Canadian digital artist Patrick Seymour has created a surprisingly moving Star Wars illustration depicting Darth Vader–one of the primary antagonists of original series–as a contemplative cello player.

Entitled 'DARTH VIOLONCELLIST,' Patrick Seymour shows Luke Skywalker's father using his red lightsaber instead of a bow as means of playing his string instrument. The glow of his lightsaber bathes both Vader and his cello in a beautiful red light, giving a sombre and almost melancholic tone to Patrick Seymour's Star Wars piece.

What could have easily have turned into a comedic Star Wars illustration is instead a hauntingly beautiful and moving work of art. Not just because of the beautiful red glow, but the clear passion in Vader's playing and the movement of the piece help to make DARTH VIOLONCELLIST a great work of art.
