Ceremonial Cruise Events

Royal Caribbean International Launches the Star of the Seas

Royal Caribbean International has officially launched its newest vessel — Star of the Seas — with a ceremonial event in Port Canaveral, Florida. The ship, which is the second in the line's Icon Class, was named by its appointed godmother, research astronaut Kellie Gerardi. Gerardi formally bestowed her blessing for the safety of the ship, its crew, and future passengers.

Royal Caribbean International positions the launch of the Star of the Seas as a significant advancement in family-oriented travel. The ship's layout is organized into eight distinct thematic zones, each intended to function as a self-contained destination. These areas include a large waterpark with high-thrill attractions, a unique aerial walkway offering views from 154 feet above the ocean, and seven different swimming pools, one of which is a suspended infinity pool. A dedicated neighborhood is specifically built for families with younger children, as well.
