Sour Patch Kids Chews Have a Reversed Formulation

The Sour Patch Kids Chews are a new item from the classic sour candy brand that's formulated with its signature taste profile in mind, but in reverse. The candy features individually wrapped chews that come in the brand's traditional flavor profiles and colors, and will reveal a sweet, chewy exterior upon being consumed. The candy, however, will reveal a sour flavor on the interior to give it a reversed profile when compared to the brand's traditional Sour Patch Kids that sour first and then turn sweet.

The Sour Patch Kids Chews candy is slated to arrive in the US market starting in January 2026 with shoppers able to pick it up at Target before it rolls out more widely to additional retailers.
