Conquering social media is a vital component of 21st century businesses, whether small or large. Social media success to connect with clients, customers or interested advertisers/developers is hugely important to not just sustaining a business, but growing it. Yet, as this infographic illustrates, almost half of participants do not use any form of social media to get their product, service or message out there where interested parties actually have a chance of jumping on the opportunity.

The main method of social media that is currently being utilized by businesses is Facebook. Almost everyone’s on Facebook and it’s a great place to spread information, but it is more personal along the scale of social networking sites. Even better for networking and businesses are Twitter and LinkedIn, where respondents indicated their use at 4% and 15%, respectively.

Currently, social media and all the opportunities businesses are missing are being treated as a second thought. But in the coming years, what is going to define the longevity of business success will be how they are able to capture the market -- a key aspect being the web-based population. Vital to this is social media success.
