Snugburys ice cream has introduced two new limited-edition flavors for the summer that take on a bakery inspiration to catch the attention of foodies.
The ice cream comes in the new Brown Butter & Miso Caramel and Honey Butter Croissant flavors, which each take on a sweet and savory composition. The products build on the brand's continued attention to unusual ice cream flavor pairings as consumers gravitate towards limited time offerings (LTOs) that are primed for sharing on social media.
The latest offerings from Snugburys ice cream are limited to 200 tubs and can be purchased for £7.50 each via the brand's online shop, while supplies last.
Head of Production Cleo commented on the new flavors saying, "We’re always asking ourselves what flavour we can create next that will surprise people. We wanted these ice creams to feel familiar but unexpected, taking ingredients people already love and giving them a completely new twist. We can’t wait to see which one becomes everyone’s summer favourite.”
What's Driving This Trend
- Bakery-inspired Ice Cream
- Pastry and bakery flavor cues in frozen desserts create space for premium mashups that feel familiar enough for mainstream trial while still delivering novelty.
- Sweet-savory Desserts
- Ingredients like miso, brown butter and honey butter point to rising demand for layered dessert profiles that blur culinary categories and elevate indulgence.
- Micro-batch Ltos
- Scarce limited-edition releases with small production runs strengthen social sharing, urgency and direct-to-consumer experimentation for food brands.
Who This Affects Most
- Ice Cream
- The category is being reshaped by artisanal flavor development, where unconventional pairings can differentiate small brands from mass-market competitors.
- Bakery
- Bakery ingredients and formats are becoming flavor platforms for adjacent categories, extending the appeal of croissants, caramel and butter into new premium products.
- E-commerce Food Retail
- Online-only drops for limited food releases provide a model for testing demand, building exclusivity and converting foodie attention into rapid sales.
