ChopValue, the Vancouver-based upcycling furniture brand, recently launched a new product live on Kickstarter, dubbed 'SMILE,' a carbon negative modular shelf. Due to SMILE's modularity and minimalist design, the shelving unit can be seamlessly integrated into any room.

ChopValue's new offering, SMILE, is made solely from recycled materials including chopsticks for shelf boards and construction steel for string frames. This diverts waste that would otherwise be going to landfill to create a new life-cycle for the products. Moreover, the new shelves are built in the brand's microfactories which help to reduce its environmental footprint while empowering local communities through job creation and increase social outreach.
