Starkey Hearing Technologies recently debuted a pair of smartphone-compatible hearing aids that help users enjoy their favorite music. While hearing aids can help to amplify speech and environmental sounds, these devices have been less useful when it comes to transmitting authentic-sounding music. Now there is a device that helps hearing aid users enjoy the best of both worlds.

The 'Made for Life' hearing aids from Starkey Hearing Technologies is a line of smartphone-compatible hearing aids designed for music lovers. In order to convey musical sounds, the hearing aids are equipped with two different types of technology: Muse and Halo 2. Muse provides users with a high-definition audio experience, while Halo 2 ensures iOS compatibility. This means that users can stream their favorite songs from an iPhone, iPad or even the Apple Watch.

The smart hearing aids demonstrate how even devices aimed at older consumers are receiving a high-tech upgrade.
