Google is Joining Gentle Monster to Make Smart Glasses

Google is breaking through to the market of smart glasses with a new partnership announcement with the South Korean brand Gentle Monster. The duo are integrating AI technology with design and everyday practicality -- it was first unveiled to the public at Google I/O 2025 and will feature the Google Android XR platform and Gemini AI into unique styles by Gentle Monster.

The main goal of this partnership is not only to create smart eyewear, but also create high-tech designs that are comfortably wearable. Gemini AI powers the designs and will help with features including real-time translations, messaging, navigation assistance, and providing information on the go. This is all done in a hands-free experience with integrated cameras, speakers, and microphones.
