Skyesports has partnered with the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT) to bring esports into India’s academic and professional landscape. The collaboration was formalized during the Annual General Meeting of the Indian Digital Gaming Society (IDGS) in Mumbai on September 26, which was held in conjunction with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The announcement follows the Ministry’s recent launch of IICT at WAVES 2025 as a National Centre of Excellence for the AVGC-XR sector, modeled after IITs and IIMs to deliver world-class education and industry development.
Through this partnership, Skyesports and IICT will develop specialized esports curricula, create opportunities for student participation and career pathways, and support research, policy development, and start-up incubation in the gaming ecosystem.
